Adult education courses

After the age of 18 you can apply for further or higher education.  You will be offered a place if you meet the entry requirements, but you will usually have to pay fees.  In Herefordshire, adult education courses are run at:

• Herefordshire Sixth Form College
• Herefordshire College of Technology
• The Royal National College for the Blind
• Holme Lacy College

There is also a University at Worcester which is about 25 miles from Hereford City.

Course fees

Regulations on fees are complex.  For many newly arrived young people, the requirement to pay course fees will depend on their immigration status, whether study is part-time or full-time, and whether the young person is receiving benefits or financial support from the government.
